For this project I decided to do something different during the weekend of recording I turned off my phone which also meant I had no internet (I'm a poor person). Also I decided to not sleep until I was done recording everything. So I was awake from Wednesday to about Saturday night/Sunday morning banging these out. Another challenge I put on myself was that everything was done in one take there's no redos or dubbing over mistakes. Now you might be curious about what these experiments did not to just the music but to me also (if you're reading this far probably right, right?) After the first day or two I was actually doing pretty good like I was back in high school again doing all nighters playing the Genesis until my eyes would bleed with my bros. But after day three I don't know if it was the sleep deprivation or if I was so dedicated to "completing the mission" but food was no longer a thing I thought about. On the last day everything was farther away from me and there was a slight haze over everything, so I was just starting to hallucinate when I finished recording. Now to the second part of the experiment, not having a phone on the other hand had an opposite effect and this is where I get all emo on you for a sec, You see during the experiment not having a phone was awesome I didn't have to worry about telemarketers, random people sending me invites to their Facebook pages or any of that. The part that leaves a slight sting is that when I turned my phone back on it turned out no one noticed I had left but two people, and they knew about what I was doing beforehand. So it's left me questioning who are my friends and my weight in the world (which is zero). How many of my Facebook friends even know who I am anymore. And now I'm just generally having an existential crisis. Am I a ghost of my former self or am I a fully realized nihilist whichever sounds the most douche-ist is probably correct.
